Lavender Fields

Since Brian didn't have baseball on Sunday, we were able to have a much needed family outing.  We packed up the car and headed over to Sequim for the yearly Lavender Festival.  Twins were way excited for their first ferry ride.  Car ride was long, given the traffic, but once we got there you could smell the lavender in the air.  We ended up going to 3 farms and skipped the street fair because it was actually fairly small.  The Purple Haze farm was by far my favorite... rock music playing, the landscape was beautifully planned out with amazing willow trees and it was located on Bell Bottom Rd.  Heading back ferry traffic was not too bad and we caught the 830pm ferry just in time to see the sunset.

On the ferry ride over, the cloud cover had not burned off yet and it was extremely windy.  This was taken on the front of the boat.  Needless to say, we didn't stay long given Gwen & Ethne could barely see.

Gwen waking up in Sequim.  We had stopped at QFC to get some bottled water before heading out to the farm tours.  She stayed like this for about 10 minutes, not moving or blinking.  For a moment I thought she had fallen back asleep with her eyes open.

Ethne's legs were hurting... She has grown over an inch in the last month and a half.  We had lavender white chocolate ice creams and lavender lemonade, of course!

On the ferry ride home, enjoying the sunset.  The water was so calm and a lot less wind this time.
